The site you're on right now was fully designed by me, using XHTML, CSS and jQuery, a leading JavaScript framework.

The social links on my About page use jQuery and AJAX to load my latest updates from each social network dynamically and display them next to the links. I also used jQuery and AJAX to create a tab-like interface on my portfolio.

It complies fully with XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.1 to provide a perfect experience across all standards compliant browsers.

Popple3.com

Popple3.com

My personal site, the original design for DanielBrierton.ie, and currently undergoing a redesign. Although I was very happy with the design, I feel it doesn't match with the kind of content I wish to publish. I plan on making a much cleaner design and turn it into more of a lifestream, displaying all my activity across the internet in a streamlined interface, while still allowing for the occasional blog post. I hope to have the design completed in the near future.

Bebo Apps - Gamercard

Bebo Applications

I have developed several Bebo applications in PHP and SNML, the special markup language for applications that use the Facebook Application Platform. I have experience using the freely available PHP library to utilise the Bebo REST API. These skills have carried over to developing Facebook applications, on which the Bebo API is based.

I have accumulated over 350,000 users across all my apps, getting many 5 star ratings, and having two of my apps, My Gamercard and Twitter, featured on Bebo. My Twitter application was used by Bebo in talks with record labels, to demonstrate group compatible apps, to entice the labels to promote their artists using Bebo. Simple apps proved to be the most popular with Other Half Box, and My Best Friends making up over 250,000 users of my total userbase.

WAJA

WAJA

WAJA is a group project undertaken by me, Paul Sweeney, and Thomas Molloghan. Both Paul and Tom are in the games development branch of the software design course, so we decided to team up and make a Facebook game using Adobe Flash. Tom worked on the design and graphics, Paul on the game logic, while I worked in getting the game to communicate with Facebook, as well as a small bit of initial game logic.

We worked well as a team, playing on each of our strong points to create a final game. A more feature complete 3D version is currently being developed by Tom and Paul using Unity, a free, cross platform, game development IDE, SDK and engine. I plan on doing the Facebook integration towards the end of the development cycle.
